Elephant Jungle Sanctuary Pattaya

Elephant Jungle Sanctuary Pattaya currently has seven adult elephants. There are no baby elephants at the sanctuary at present.

During the visit, guests learn about the elephants’ history, behaviour, diet and daily care. The guide explains how to approach and interact with the animals safely and respectfully.

The sanctuary is approximately 45 minutes from Pattaya, in a quieter countryside area outside the main resort zone.

Feeding the Elephants

Guests receive bananas, sugar cane or other food prepared and approved by sanctuary staff.

Elephants may be fed only under staff supervision. Guests must not bring their own food or give the animals anything without permission.

Mud Spa and Bathing with Elephants

The program includes mud and water activities in which guests can help apply mud to the elephants’ skin and join the bathing and water splashing.

This is an active part of the tour, so guests should expect to get wet and muddy. There is time to change into dry clothes afterwards.

The mud spa is part of the sanctuary care and visitor program, not a medical treatment. An elephant must not be forced to participate if it does not want to join an activity.

Thai Lunch and Free Photos

A traditional Thai lunch and drinking water are served after the elephant activities. A welcome snack with tea or coffee is provided on arrival.

Free photographs are taken during the visit and later uploaded to Facebook. Publication time and album access should be checked with the organizers.

Safety and Respect for Elephants

  • Follow all instructions from the guide and sanctuary staff.
  • Do not approach an elephant without permission.
  • Do not stand too close to its legs or tail.

  • Do not feed elephants with personal food.
  • Do not use flash near the animals when staff asks you not to.
