Tour Description
TREASURES OF ISAN – an amazing two-day journey to the mysterious and rarely visited region of Isan, in northeastern Thailand.
The highlight of the program is a visit to Phnom Rung, the ancient and remarkably well-preserved city of the Angkor period — also known as the Temple of the Sun.
You will also explore the Lalu Geopark (nicknamed the Martian landscape), visit the prehistoric site of ancient humans, see 4,000-year-old petroglyphs, and admire caves, grottoes, and majestic temples.
Phnom Rung — once the capital of the Khmer Empire for a time — is located on top of an extinct volcano, offering breathtaking views of the Isan plains.
We’ll stay overnight in a beautiful boutique hotel with a pool, located near the ancient city.
On the way back, we’ll stop at the Heritage of Ancient Civilization Historical Park, hidden deep in the jungle. This unique site contains 4,000-year-old petroglyphs and stunning natural scenery.

12:00–13:00 – Lunch at an Italian restaurant
14:00–15:00 – Explore Tham Khao Chakan, the most famous cave in Isan
16:00–17:00 – Discover Lalu Geopark, with its Martian-style rock formations
18:00 – Check-in at a 4-star boutique hotel, free time
19:00–20:00 – Dinner at a French restaurant
20:00 – Rest and relaxation at the hotel (pool and bar available)
Day 2
07:00–08:00 – Breakfast at the hotel
08:30 – Departure from the hotel
09:00–11:00 – Visit the ancient city of Prasat Phnom Rung
12:00–13:00 – Visit Wat Mahawihan, one of Thailand’s most revered temples
