Ayutthaya from Pattaya - review

Ayutthaya. Historical tour that introduces the ancient capital of Siam - one of the most magnificent cities in the past centuries. Ayutthaya was the capital of Siam Kingdom for four centuries. According to legend, the jealous gods, seeing the greatness of Ayutthaya, sent all kinds of evil and destruction to the city.

Wat Mahathat

Ayutthaya is called the Rome of Southeast Asia. She reminds Siem Reap (Angkor) in Cambodia, only less ambitious.

Distinctive symbol of the city is called the tree within which the Buddha's head. Several centuries ago, the Burmese invaders cut off the heads of all statues in search of gold. One of the heads was buried in the ground, and then the roots of the tree lifted it to the surface. This plant has now considered sacred.

You can take pictures of this phenomenon, but you need to sit down so that you do not look down on the Buddha.
This miracle is located on the territory of Wat Mahathat.

Not far from these relics there is another point of interest: three famous chedi of Wat Phra Si Sanpete.

Then you will be taken to the Wat Chayvatanar temple complex. The temple looks more like a mystical place.

As if from another world. This is the perfect place for meditation.

Wat Yai Chai Mongkol
